On Black Friday the person you are buying for usually already knows what they want. A gamer has a wish list full of titles waiting for a price drop, a student has a basket open on a fashion site, and someone else is waiting for a streaming offer. Credit lets them grab their own deal the moment it goes live, instead of you guessing which item they had in mind.
Think about what they will actually do with it. PlayStation Store or Xbox credit turns into a discounted game or add-on in their own library. Nintendo eShop credit goes on a Switch title the whole family plays. A paysafecard or Neosurf voucher lets someone without a bank card pay in pounds at sites that accept it, which is often exactly the gap for younger players.
Budget matters more than the card. Set an amount first, then pick a brand that has that amount on its UK ladder. The price bands further down are built straight from the published amounts, so a brand only shows up in a band when it really sells a card at that value. Nothing is rounded or converted from euros.
Region is the part people forget. Console credit only redeems on an account set to the UK. Phone credit needs the right network and number. Retail cards are spent with that one brand, on its UK site or app. Each brand page spells out the rule, so read it before you choose rather than after.
Fees are shown before you pay. Any service fees for gaming credit, subscriptions and gift cards are shown before payment. Mobile top-ups and prepaid vouchers carry a small fee that depends on the amount, and it appears on the product page and in the basket. There is no extra charge for the payment method you use.
After confirmed payment the code is sent to you by e-mail. You can forward it, write it in a card or keep it until the sales start. Supercharge does not send it to the recipient for you, so plan the handover yourself.
1. For the gamer
Credit for the console or game they already play. Check the platform first: PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo credit only works on a UK account of that platform. In-game currency such as Robux or V-Bucks is spent inside that one game, on the player’s own account.
2. For the student paying without a card
A prepaid voucher lets someone pay online in pounds without a bank card. Each voucher works at its own partner sites, so match it to where they want to spend. It is a common way for younger players to pay for games when nobody wants to share a parent’s card.
3. For the commuter on pay as you go
Phone credit keeps data and calls going on the train and the bus. You need the right network and the mobile number that gets the top-up. It suits anyone on pay as you go who would rather not run out of data halfway through the journey.
4. For apps, films and streams
Google Play credit on their phone or a streaming service they watch. It sits on their own account, so it has to be a UK account. It works well for someone who already pays for films, music or apps and would like a month or two covered.
5. For food, rides and treats
Gift cards for a takeaway, a taxi, clothes or a break. Each card is spent with the named brand only, on its UK site or app. These are the cards to pick when you know their favourite takeaway, shop or way of getting around.

How it works
- 1Pick the situation that sounds like the person and open the brand page that fits what they already use.
- 2Read the region rule on that page: account country, network or UK site. The currency is always pounds sterling.
- 3Choose one of the listed amounts. After confirmed payment the code is sent to you by e-mail, and you decide how and when to pass it on.
- 4Keep the e-mail until the code has been redeemed, so the person can check the code again if something goes wrong on their account.

Frequently asked questions
- Is gift card credit worth more on Black Friday?
- No. A £25 card is worth £25 on any day. The benefit is that the person spends it on the discounted game, film or item they picked themselves during the sales.
- Can a gamer use console credit on Black Friday deals?
- Yes, as long as the credit matches their platform and a UK account. Credit is added to the wallet of that account and can be spent on any discounted item in that store.
- What suits someone who has no bank card?
- A prepaid voucher such as paysafecard, Neosurf or Flexepin. They pay online with the code at sites that accept that voucher. Check the voucher page for where it works.
- Which amounts can I choose?
- Only the amounts on the brand’s UK ladder. They differ per brand and are listed on each product page. This page never suggests an amount a brand does not sell.
- Is there a service fee?
- Not on gaming credit, subscriptions or gift cards. Mobile top-ups and prepaid vouchers carry a fee that depends on the amount. You always see it before you pay.
- When do I receive the code?
- The code is sent to you by e-mail after confirmed payment. No delivery time is promised, so order when you have enough time to check the e-mail and pass the code on.
- Can I send the code straight to the recipient?
- Not through Supercharge at the moment. The code comes to your own e-mail address, and you forward it, print it or write it in a card yourself.
- Does console credit from another country work?
- Usually not. PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo credit is tied to the account country. The brand page states that these codes are meant for UK accounts.
- Can I top up someone’s phone as a Black Friday present?
- Yes, if you know their network and number. Pick the network on the mobile top-up page and check the amounts it offers before you pay.
- What if I do not know their favourite shop?
- Choose by what they do rather than where they shop: gaming, streaming, food or travel. Then pick one brand in that group that you know they already use.
